Only five minutes until we board to leave Guatemala. It’s hard to believe that we are already leaving the country. Because we have been on such a fast pace, I haven’t had much time to process any of it! Hopefully time on the plane will allow me to do so before the business of home picks up again.
Yesterday we went to Antigua! We went to the main square first to get our bearings, then we broke up into groups to conquer

sightseeing and shopping. My group, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Strom, Mrs. Linquist, Mom and I went to a nice cloth shop and then we to an artisans market. I was able to buy lots of woven presents. I also bought tablemats. Although most of us were focused on the weavings, there were paintings, masks and knives (which Colin and John loved, of course!). A larger group went to lunch at a restaurant, ymm, quiche Lorraine! The best part of lunch was that I got to try their famous hot chocolate. It was so good! If you’re jealous, let me know because I bought some to share! We met back in the first square and walked the long way back so we could go by a beautiful church. There were flowers everywhere! My two favorite flowers are Easter lilies and daisies and guess what the arrangement contained? Yes! Easter lilies and daisies (and white roses)! I was so excited. Toward the front of the church there was an intricate and moving statue of Jesus carrying the cross.

We came back to Guatemala City and went to dinner at an Argentinean Steak House. Again, ymm. Then we came straight back to the hotel because we had to wake up and be at breakfast at 4:45 this morning (which wasn’t there!). Unfortunately we had three people sick this morning.
The reading for our time with God this morning was from 2 Peter. Peter encourages us add to our faith, goodness, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness and love. I think it was cool to read it this morning because this is what we’ve been doing to our trip. It’s not just telling us to stop this or that but to ADD to our faith. We’ve been able to add these to our faith to some degree by having daily time with God, working and living with one another, and loving, playing and helping orphans. What a great trip! Although for four people now, they may need to be feeling better before they can say that with as much gusto as me,
